Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1955, Kathy immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1957. She grew up in Montreal and graduated from Trafalgar School.
Since 1979 her passion has been calligraphy and the related arts.
Her studies began in Montreal at
the Saidye Bronfman Centre.
Since then, she has travelled to several conferences and workshops and studied with Austrian, British, German and American Masters.
Kathy taught at the Saidye Bronfman Center, the Visual Arts Center
Miss Edgars and Miss Cramps School,
as well as privately and at several
community centres in Montreal, Hemmingford and Sutton.
Clients have included Air Canada,
Canadian Cardiovascular Society,
Jewish General Hospital, Alcan
City of Westmount, State of Israel Bonds,
Quebec Ministry of Tourism and Seagrams.
Since 1980, Kathy worked with La Société des calligraphes de Montréal alternating years as Newsletter Editor, Exhibitions Coordinator and Workshop Coordinator. From 1995-1997, she served as President.
From 2012-2017 she was the Treasurer.
In 2003, Kathy opened and curated
Galerie Charmante, a gallery dedicated
to promoting new artists, calligraphy
and the related arts.
In August 2007 the gallery closed.
Kathy lives in Dunham, Quebec
and is presently working for the Canadian Heraldic Authority at Rideau Hall and accepting public and private commissions.
